2021 Annual Report - Arvada Economic Development Association

2021

Annual Report

"I was honored to serve as President of the AEDA Board of Directors this past year. 2021 was a year in which we saw many continued stresses and challenges for Arvada businesses due to the pandemic and other tragedies, but I am very proud of the support AEDA provided in alignment with our mission and the positive outcomes and impact to our community. Namely, AEDA focused heavily on retention of existing businesses as well as targeted support for new commercial projects, but it was AEDA's investment into strategic partnerships that really stands out. AEDA's collaboration with the Arvada Resiliency Taskforce and other strategic partners proved invaluable as businesses of all sizes and across all industries continued to thrive in the face of adversity. On behalf of the AEDA Board of Directors, we are excited to continue serving this great business community in 2022!"

COVID Recovery

AEDA continued its support of business and economic recovery through ongoing partnership with the Arvada Resiliency Taskforce (ART). In 2021, AEDA in partnership with the Arvada Chamber helped the ART secure a $500,000 grant from the City of Arvada to expand and replicate COVID-19 resources and programs for Arvada businesses.

Strategic Plan

Each year the AEDA Board of Directors adopts an Annual Strategic Plan in alignment with a larger six-year Strategic Plan. This Impact-Driven plan helps guide AEDA's decisions based on capturing data from three program objectives, including Economic Impact, Customer & Community Impact, Organizational Impact. This information allows staff to "tell the story" of how the results of AEDA's efforts support its mission.
