Ralston Creek Shopping District New Development Announced
The state’s newest Walmart Super Center opened on August 9 at the corner of Ralston Road and Independence Street in Arvada. The 138,000 square foot store includes a full selection of groceries, pharmacy, tire and lube center, garden center, vision center, and general merchandise. It also has a Subway restaurant. This location employs approximately 300 associates. The store has already positively impacted the community through donations to the City of Arvada’s 4th of July event, Arvada’s Day of Service, Ralston House, Arvada Center, and the Arvada Community Food Bank.
The Shops at Ralston Creek are currently under construction to the north of the Walmart store which will bring another 30,000 square feet of retail space to the shopping district. Ralston Creek North, LLC recently reported that they have leased eight of the thirteen available spaces. Tenants slated for the site include Tokyo Joe’s, Five Guys, MOD Pizza, Wingstop, Lady Jane’s Haircuts for Men, Arvada Liquor Mart, PepperJax Grill, and Tropical Smoothie Café. Tenants will take possession to build-out their spaces in mid-October with stores opening in various stages throughout the first quarter of 2018.
Streetscape along Ralston Road is also underway. The street will be expanded to include turn lanes, medians, wide sidewalks, trees, flower pots, benches, corner monuments, and lighting to accommodate new access to the district and integrate the theming of the Ralston Creek shopping district.
The final phase of the area will include multi-family residential and more retail to the east of The Shops at Ralston Creek. For more information on these projects and other development in Arvada, please visit www.arvadaurbanrenewal.org.
