AEDA Safety and Security Grant
The Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA), in partnership with the City of Arvada, is launching a pilot grant program to support local businesses in enhancing safety and security at their commercial properties. This program offers reimbursement grants of up to $5,000 to help offset the cost of eligible crime prevention improvements.
Program Goals
- Improve safety and security for Arvada’s business community
- Support proactive measures to prevent theft, vandalism, and break-ins
- Encourage investment in crime deterrents that benefit customers, employees, and surrounding areas
- Strengthen collaboration between businesses and city partners in creating a safe commercial environment
Grant Details
- Maximum grant award: $5,000 per business
- Match requirement: 25% minimum applicant contribution
- Example: Project of $6,667+ could request a maximum grant of $5,000 grant
- Example: Project of $1,000 could request a grant of $750
- Reimbursement basis: Funds will be disbursed after the approved project is completed and all receipts have been submitted
- Pilot funding pool: Limited funds are available and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted
- Selection will be based on project impact, business need, community benefit, and project readiness.
Business Eligibility
- Must be a commercial or industrial zoned property within the Arvada city limits. Home-based businesses and nonprofits are not eligible.
- This grant is intended for Arvada owner-occupied real estate or business tenants (with property owner approval). Shopping center owners are encouraged to have their tenants apply.
- Must have an active Arvada business license and be in good standing with the City
- All improvements must comply with the City of Arvada codes and ordinances
- Projects must be completed between September 15, 2025, and October 1, 2026.

Process
To apply, complete the application online. Please note the application requires you to submit a project budget, project timeline, before photos, and narratives about the need and value of the project. Applications without these items will not be considered
Upon completion of grant project, submit all project-related receipts and after photos to AEDA staff within 30 days. Await approval and reimbursement, usually 1-2 weeks.
