Hope House To Host ‘Kickoff To Summer Bash’ At Lake Arbor Park

Hope House teen moms, their children, staff and volunteers are planning to enjoy a fun afternoon at Lake Arbor Park to kickoff the summer on Thursday, June 3rd. The drop-in event will run from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. and provide a casual atmosphere where attendees can stop by to enjoy dinner from Chick-fil-A and dessert from Kona Ice, play yard games near the lake and be social in an outdoor space, weather permitting.

Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) is sponsoring the event and will provide funds to cover the cost of food, décor and yard games. The funds also make it possible to giveaway fun prizes throughout the event.

AEDA’s Executive Director Daniel Ryley shared, “With the current challenges we face in this economy, Hope House is a vital asset in supporting teen moms to develop more self-sufficiency, including the job skills to support Arvada businesses’ talent needs. The AEDA board and staff believe that Hope House’s mission aligns with our focus in developing a thriving, sustainable business environment. We are thrilled that we are able to sponsor this event and welcome the community back to the Arvada Hope House campus in person.”

The hope for the event is to create an atmosphere where the little ones can run and play while staff, teen moms and volunteers spend time catching up in-person after a long year in 2020 where virtual learning and one-on-one sessions were the norm at the height of the pandemic. More teen moms have been attending classes in-person at the Resource Center again, another welcome update that sparks excitement for celebrating together at this event.

Hope House’s Founder & Executive Director Lisa Steven expresses, “We can’t thank AEDA enough for their support of our teen moms and little ones as we celebrate coming back together as a community! Seeing our young families laughing and playing together again will feel like coming home!”

Lake Arbor Park has been the site of the annual Hope House 5K & Fun Run, and neighbors in the area have proven to show generous support of events Hope House has hosted there over the past several years. The Kickoff to Summer Bash is a fun occasion for Hope House to pause and celebrate, and spending time at Lake Arbor is a sweet reminder of how much the Arvada community supports the mission of empowering teen moms.

Last year, 28% of Hope House Colorado’s donations came from donors living right in Arvada, CO. The organization is extremely grateful for the community support, both from individuals and local businesses who are passionate about seeing teen moms succeed in their community.
