Business Appreciation Winner: Joe Hengstler

Joe Hengstler was appointed Executive Director of the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID) in 2019 and quickly became the heart and driving force behind Olde Town’s revitalization. Guided by the BID Board, Joe was responsible for advancing the overall mission of the district and ensuring the success of all programs, operations, administrative policies, and communications.

Joe’s impact was transformational. His dedication, creativity, and steady leadership helped revolutionize Olde Town into the vibrant, welcoming, and economically resilient destination it is today. Even after his passing on Sept 23, 2025, his presence is still felt daily throughout the district. It is no coincidence that he is still lovingly referred to as the “Mayor of Olde Town”—a reflection of the trust, respect, and affection he earned from the community he served so passionately. His wife Megan accepted the award in his honor at the event.
