Olde Town Arvada Extends Street Closures through November 3

The Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID) announced today that to support local businesses in the COVID-19 recovery effort, street closures in Olde Town Arvada have been extended through November 3, 2020.

“The Olde Town Arvada BID and the City of Arvada felt it was critical to continue to do everything possible to support small businesses during this time,” Joe Hengstler, Executive Director of the Olde Town Arvada BID said. “We want to give the public every opportunity to social distance and be safe while continuing to frequent their favorite Olde Town businesses.”

Street closures in Olde Town Arvada went into effect June 12, 2020.  Establishments within the street closures are now serving additional patrons with expanded patio seating and retail outlets are using additional space in front of their stores for art demonstrations, sidewalk sales and more.  An open container executive order has also been extended until November 3, so visitors to Olde Town Arvada can walk the streets and enjoy social distancing while sipping libations.

To kick off the excitement of extending street closures, Arvada is hosting Thursday Night Bites on August 20 from 6-9 p.m.  Stroll the streets of Olde Town and try tapas style bites from 14 different restaurants. Tickets cost $45 and all proceeds benefit participating restaurants including Bread Winners Café, Elevated Seltzer, Flights Wine Café, Flying Pig, Homegrown Tap & Dough, La Dolce Vita, Lloyd’s Tasty Sandwiches, School House, Scrumptious, Silver Vines Winery, Smokin Fins, So Radish, The Arvada Tavern and Urban Beets. Beverages are not included but can be purchased from any Olde Town establishment and enjoyed anywhere in Olde Town in accordance with the city’s temporary common consumption law.
